CORENET presented at EIC Pathfinder and Transition 2026 Information Day at IMDEA Nanociencia

On 17 November 2025, the CORENET project was presented at the EIC Pathfinder and Transition 2026 Information Day, held at IMDEA Nanociencia in Madrid. The event brought together around 50 participants, primarily researchers and academics, interested in frontier research and early-stage innovation supported under the European Innovation Council (EIC).

As part of the programme, Dr Andrés de la Escosura, Coordinator of CORENET, delivered a keynote contribution entitled “The Pathfinder programme: A personal perspective from the CLASSY and CORENET projects.” His intervention was included in the session dedicated to success cases, where he shared first-hand experience from coordinating two EIC-funded projects, CLASSY (H2020-FET Open) and CORENET (Horizon Europe EIC Pathfinder).

The presentation provided practical insights into the EIC Pathfinder scheme, addressing aspects such as project conception, high-risk high-gain research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the strategic value of Pathfinder projects in advancing breakthrough scientific ideas. CORENET was highlighted as an example of how Pathfinder funding can support ambitious research directions while fostering open scientific exchange.

The information day also featured an overview of the EIC Pathfinder and Transition 2026 calls, presented by the Spanish National Contact Point, followed by an interactive discussion with the audience, reinforcing the event’s role as a platform for Open Science dialogue and community building.

CORENET’s participation in this event contributes to its ongoing dissemination and communication activities, strengthening engagement with the European research community and promoting awareness of EIC Pathfinder opportunities among early-stage innovators and academic stakeholders.
