CORENET’s Young Researchers host an interactive workshop on FAIR principles
When? March 19, 2025 | 11:00–12:00 CET
CORENET’s young researchers recently gathered for an insightful and interactive workshop focused on the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) principles—a crucial framework for ensuring high-quality data management.
Dr. Mehmet Aziz Yirik led the session with a compelling presentation on FAIR data principles, emphasizing their importance in chemical datasets. He provided real-world examples of how these principles enhance data storage, accessibility, and usability for both scientists and industry professionals.
The session didn’t just stop at theory—following the presentation, all participating CORENET researchers engaged in an open discussion. Each researcher had the opportunity to present their datasets, showcasing their current formats, similarities, and differences. This interactive exchange sparked a collaborative effort to develop a unified and FAIR-compliant data structure tailored for CORENET’s Data Management Plan (DMP).
This workshop marks the first step in an ongoing initiative. The next phase will focus on applying the FAIR principles directly to CORENET datasets, refining the DMP, and ensuring that our research data is not only well-structured but also future-proof.
Stay tuned for more updates as CORENET continues to shape the future of data management in chemistry!
