CORENET celebrates a successful 6th General Assembly at the University of Southern Denmark
The 6th General Assembly (GA) meeting, held on November 30th in Copenhagen (Denmark), brought together the CORENET partners for a comprehensive discussion on the advancement of the powerful chemical reservoir computer systems. The consortium gathered at the National Institute of Public Health at the University of Southern Denmark. In the following paragraphs, we summarise this meeting and share insights.
The meeting began with a presentation of Prof. Andres de la Escosura from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) and Prof. Alberto Valdes representing the National Research Council of Spain (CSIC). This was followed by a discussion on both, UAM and CSIC’s work progress, the latest results encountered, and future challenges for the project.
Shortly after, the floor was given to PhDs Thijs de Jong and Mathieu Baltussen from Radboud Universiteit (SRU), who shared many updates on their results on the formose reaction. Following this, Prof. Daniel Merkle and Dr. Mehmet Aziz Yirik from the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) covered two key topics: the modelling framework and reservoir computing.
The second half of the meeting began with valuable inputs and developments into the reactor technology from Dr. Emanuel Loertscher, Dr. Katja-Sophia Csizi and Adrianna Frackowiak from IBM Research Europe – Zurich (IBM). The project management and financial status were then showcased by Dr. Jeanette Muller accelopment Schweiz AG (accelCH), including an exercise to boost the upcoming innovation and exploitation activities and the management of the project innovations.
Some news related to the Working Group of PostDoc & PhD students were presented by Marcos Sanz from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). He leads this interactive platform to provide the consortium’s young researchers with opportunities to work together by connecting and collaborating with peers and research groups to exchange their project contributions, spanning fields that include systems chemistry, artificial intelligence, metabolomics, and microfluidics. After that, Ms. Miriam Frances from accelCH, presented the project outreach activities implemented and the upcoming activities such as the second CORENET webinar.
The assembly concluded with an engaging open discussion led by Prof. Andres de la Escosura, who encouraged all partners to continue their commitment to high-quality research and collaborative innovation for the betterment of the project. Prof. Andres emphasized the growing integration between different groups, highlighting that each partner’s contributions are vital to advancing the project. He noted that these developments will play a key role in shaping the pathways for future innovation, guiding CORENET steadily toward its ambitious goals.
