The CORENET project kicks off!

On the 7th of April all partners of CORENET had a successful online meeting marking the official Kick-Off of this new Horizon Europe project, which will run until March 2026. All 6 partners came together to discuss the project scope, objectives, timeline, dissemination plan, and other practical issues.

CORENET, which is coordinated by Professor Andrés de la Escosura of Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (ES), aims to construct brain-mimicking computing devices that utilise networks of chemical reactions as molecular information processing systems. The CORENET consortium unites expertise from different disciplines, analytical chemistry, complex molecular systems, fluidics engineering and computer science from 4 European countries.

Understanding complex chemical systems is a major goal of current science, which will bring technological advances in chemistry and materials science. CORENET is an exciting multidisciplinary consortium bringing together experts in analytical chemistry, complex molecular systems, fluidics engineering and computer science. Together, we have a great opportunity to make powerful molecular reservoir computers a reality.

Processing information via complex chemical reaction networks bears the potential for novel, energy-efficient and scalable computing. In CORENET, we will jointly establish a chemical computing platform by combining unique hardware, enhanced analytics and cutting-edge artificial intelligence algorithms to tackle real-world applications.
